More news and some photos are coming as soon as i have a minute to sit down and update :)
The weekend was brilliant and we met some great people. On the last night of the conference we had dinner with our first Australian Jacobsen's syndrome family!
More soon but for now i had better get Dylan off to school he is less than impressed that he is ready for school early and Mum keeps telling him it's not time to go yet!!
Welcome to our website
Hello Everyone,
I write this as the mother of a now 10 year old boy!!! Yes that is right our Dylan is now the big 10, and boy did he do it in style! He had been battling colds and flu for a few weeks and after another visit to the doctor after not liking the fact he had not been urinating at all for 12 hours he was put into hospital to be rehydrated, whilst there they did a chest x ray and discovered pneumonia on his left lung!! Well we then were admitted and he began a course of IV antibiotics and by the next day was giving the nurses cheek and making jokes so we knew he was feeling better. Mind you he was due to have his birthday on Sunday, he got out of hospital on Friday so he gave us a fright thinking he might be in there for his big day.
Anyway he had his Pirate party and loved it, it was a fantastic day and he was very spoilt and loved his new iPad which has been wonderful.
I have added some photo's from his party for you to look at, Hope you are all well lot's of Love from the Barder's and Master Dylan himself.
May 2011 Update

Hi to you all,
Apologies for the long delay since my last post we have had a busy few months, we moved again (hubby needed a bigger shed for all his tools!) and we have settled in very well to our new house and Dylan is loving having a bath again!
On the school front Dylan is doing really well and is now in Year 4 and loves school and is showing improvement in all areas.
Dylan has been enjoying visiting his dad's house in coffs harbour and loves the pool!!
We went camping for the Easter weekend, did not go so well but we tried Dylan was a bit bored because there was no kiddies to play with so next time we will go with friends so he has some company!!!
Our big news is that in November we are going to a SOFT conference in Sydney. SOFT is an organisation for any Chromosome 9 disorders, and it is in Australia so that is awesome news and we are very excited about that more news closer to the time for that one!!!
In closing I hope that you are all well and keep an eye out for more photo's and updates, I will try and be more organised and get more out there!!!
Cheers,
Marie

Welcome to our website
Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a nice Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
To update you on Dylan he is doing so well and going into Year 4 this year and will be 10 in August!
Verbally his speech has improved out of sight and he is just a joy to be around and converse with!
His behaviour has improved as well since we installed a later bedtime, he now sleeps through the night and is much better during the day.
We have made contact with several Australian families in the last year and we are even hoping to all meet up sometime this year, which would be brilliant!!
I have put a website under this update for you all to look at, Guide Dogs has helped Dylan a lot over the years and so has Steve Widders who was one of our fantastic team of fundraisers to get us to the conference in San Diego a few years ago. We would like to take this opportunity to return the favour and help out in any way we can!
Please have a look and help out if your able to! Thank you!
Until next time
stay safe
Marie

My first camping trip

September 2010 Update
On the weekend I went on my very first camping trip with Mum and Richie!! It was great fun, we went to Mudgee NSW and had a great time catching up with friends I got to ride a quad bike (atv) and pat a pony!
Then the most exciting thing we went to Lithgow NSW and went on the Zig Zag Railway and saw the real thomas the tank engine oh wow that was so exciting!!!!! I also saw James and Douglas and Diesel, who was VERY loud and noisy but I had a great time and then we went off roading and boy did I love all the bumps and puddles! We saw some very pretty scenery and went for a quick walk around and even saw a cave!
It was a long drive home but I was a very good boy according to mum so I got Macdonalds for lunch! Yummmmmmm!!!!!!!!!
Anyway signing off now all is well here and I am getting more and more confident with my words and I even sing songs now

I am loving school and am in Year 3 and almost in year 4 wow mum wonders where that time went!
Hope you are all well, until next time

Dylan
Hi

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say thanks so much for your ongoing support of our website and of course the young master Dylan! He is doing so well and we are all so proud of him.
There is another conference happening in July in San Diego but we will not be able to make this one, we are hoping to lure everyone to Australia for the next one if we can but if not we will try and get to the states in 2012.
Hope you are all well until next time stay safe and look after each other!
Marie
Updated news April 2010
April 2010
Well we are all doing well and you will all be pleased to know Dylan is powering along and reading using specially made cards at school, only small words and with pictures as a guide but he does it so well!!!
He has settled into his 4 year at Sandon and settled into year 3 (can you believe it where has that gone) very well.
As he is in the support unit he has the same brilliant teacher and aides and we could not be happier with how things are going for him.
Health wise no major things touch wood other than colds and flu so that is wonderful.
Dylan is loving family life and happily goes between his Dad's house and ours with no trouble and we are all over the moon that things are just progressing so well.
More news as it happens xxx
Dylan and Mummy
Dylan and Daddy
My mum and dad are special, even though they are divorced they still get on really great and are good friends. I love it cause it means I get to spend lot's of time with both mum and dad and they both come to all my things at school.
I have such a great time at Daddy's house playing with Molly and I love my step mum Trace and so does mum she says Trace is like her sister but that's funny cause then she would be my aunty! I also am loving having a new step dad Richie, he is really nice and spoils me and it's really good for me to see my mum so happy. I love it cause we all have so much fun together and we are a big happy family even though we don't live together!
Until next time
Dylan
